work shop 4

I felt this practice was my best yet. Freddie even complimented me on my playing. I felt the little lessons that Luke has been giving me has really paid off. We played blues again in the workshop and I personally got really into it. I was bouncing up and down with the beat. The music was moving through me and I was releasing in through my guitar as well. Everyone was getting real involved as well. I can see everyone growing a little bit more each practice we have. Especially Zach. I think he is growing alot more then all of us. He is learning how to hear a note and then play that note. He is still rusty but I know he has grown a lot more. I can't wait for next practice.

work shop 3

So today was pretty cool. Instead of a constant cover, we went into a blues tune. It started off being pretty bad but grew as we kept moving on and on. Half way through we ended up doing a blues/ ska tune which was actually shockingly boring to me. It was way to slow in my view. I want to increase the tempo. I understand that 3 guitars should play 3 different set of notes but it becomes complicated that is why I feel we should add another instrument to the band. I don't know what exactly but I feel something is missing. Maybe today was a off day but at least majority of the work shop was good.

Freddie take 2

This time around with Freddie was a bit more complicated because I was put on the spot to learn a part, which isn't all that hard to do in the end as it is, But it was kind of confusing because I had to learn it fast. Real fast. I got it down alot as time went on. Although I am loving the fact I feel the band is growing more and more as we all play on and on. Freddie is offering to teach me sheet music the next time we meet. I don't know if I will understand it but who knows because I am going to try my best.

Rocksteady Freddie Relter

This was a great experience. I have grown a lot today as well and learned some history. We were playing in the key of C today and I thought it was normal but soon enough I felt myself grow. Never once in my life have I used my foot taping correctly until today. I was using it to help me play the up beats. It helped me so much and I wasn't told to do it, I just did it. Maybe that shows I have grown as a musician, when you learn something on your own without being taught. There is still a lot for me to learn and I have tried to learn but it never clicked with me. I never understood the whole concept of sheet music and how it is read and determined. All I know of now is that I simply can not wait until we have our next session. I am loving this workshop so much.
